Two Charged With Robbery Conspiracy In Trumbull

The two tried to carjack a 69-year-old man, but failed.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull Police arrested two Bridgeport teens after they attempted to carjack a 69-year-old man at Twin Brooks Park in June, according to police.

Geraldo Coelho, 19, and a juvenile were each charged by warrant with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and weapon in a motor vehicle. The two had previously been charged by Fairfield Police for a similar incident.

The victim said a male came to his car door and pointed a handgun at him, police said. The victim refused his demands and the would-be robbers left empty handed.

About 20 minutes later Fairfield Police got a report of an attempted robbery on Easton Turnpike. A responded Fairfield officer located and stopped an older green Honda leaving the area with two males inside.
