The Trumbull Youth Association (TYA) is thrilled to announce Children of Eden as its 2014 Summer Musical. Freely based on the story of Genesis, Children of Eden offers a heartfelt and often humorous perspective on the timeless conflict between parents and children. Adam, Eve, Noah and the “Father” who created them deal with the willful and cataclysmic actions of their respective children. Children of Eden lauds the incredible power of forgiveness, and delivers a heartfelt and inspiring message: that “the hardest part of love is letting go.” With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell) and a book by John Caird (director of Broadway’s Les Miserables) Children of Eden is a musical for audiences of all ages. The TYA team is very excited to bring this spectacular, colorful, and inspiring production to Trumbull.
Brett Boles will return to direct this year’s production. The TYA production staff will include Musical Supervisor/Conductor Stephen Ferri, Musical Director Tom Cuffari, Choreographer Lisa Menilli, and Scenic Designer Martin Marchitto. Children of Eden will be accompanied by a ten-piece orchestra made up of Broadway musicians.
Audition Dates are Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. Performance dates (2 Weekends!) are 7/31-8/3, and 8/8-8/10. More information about the TYA Program and auditions can be found on TYA’s website, www.trumbullyouth.org.
