Vandalized Painting Leaves Trumbull Library
The entire 'Great Minds' collection has left the building as scheduled.

One painting in particular that depicted a number of historical female figures caused controversy in town.
Some were upset with the depiction of Mother Teresa and Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. One person was apparently so upset with the painting that Sanger’s face was vandalized. The incident prompted condemnation.

There are no new leads in the investigation into who defaced the painting, according to the Trumbull Times.

Collection owner Dr. Richard Resnick said the painting won’t be repaired and that the vandalism made the painting more significant than it should have been.
