Woman, Child In Stroller Struck By Vehicle At Trumbull Mall: Police

Police said the crash involved a "new driver in training" and both pedestrians were taken to the hospital.

TRUMBULL, CT — A woman and a child were hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle at the Trumbull Mall on Saturday morning, according to police.

Police responded to the mall on Saturday morning on the report of a motor vehicle accident involving two pedestrians.

“The initial investigation indicates that a new driver in training was operating a vehicle in the parking lot near Macy’s when the vehicle accelerated and struck an adult woman and a child in a stroller,” police wrote in a news release.

Both pedestrians were taken to a local hospital for evaluation, according to police.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
