Woman Dead After Car Collides With Rock Wall In Trumbull
Connecticut State Police said the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. Friday on southbound Route 8 in Trumbull.
TRUMBULL, CT — A woman died Friday when the car she was riding in collided with a rock wall in Trumbull.
Connecticut State Police said the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. on southbound Route 8 near exit 6. A Mercedes driven by a 60-year-old Bridgeport man was traveling in an unknown lane when the car suddenly veered into the grassy right shoulder and collided with the wall.
Police said it's unknown what caused the car to leave the road.

The driver was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger — identified by police as 40-year-old Maria S. Nieves of Bridgeport — was also taken to the hospital, where she later died.
