Woman Robbed in Trumbull, Suspect Charged: PD

Police caught up with the suspect months after the incident.

TRUMBULL, CT—A woman was robbed of her phone and purse by a former friend near the Target on Hawley Lane, police said.

Police got called to the area June 13 and the complainant said she was told that Tajanique Watson, 24, of Bridgeport had taken her license plate. The two had agreed to meet at Target.

Watson and the victim got into a fight and the victim tried to run away, but Watson took her purse and iPhone 6. The purse had $160 in it.

Police watched video surveillance and issued a warrant for Watson's arrest. She was picked up by State Police on an unrelated matter and turned over to Trumbull Police for processing on Oct. 25.

She is charged with fifth-degree larceny, second-degree robbery, breach of peace and third degree assault.
