14-Year-Old Charged With Murder In Manchester Girl's Death

A Manchester teen is facing a felony murder charge in connection with the death of another teen in June, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — A 14-year-old boy is being charged with felony murder in relation to the June disappearance and subsequent death of a teenage girl in Manchester.

At 8:40 a.m. on June 18, Manchester police went to 40 Olcott Street after being alerted to an unresponsive girl found in the common area of an apartment building.

It was determined she was dead and, following an autopsy, the girl's death was ruled a homicide. She was reported missing the night before.

According to a report released Friday, over the past five months, detectives assigned to the Manchester Police Department Investigative Services Unit worked on the case. On Friday, a teen was arrested on a warrant.

Police said they were releasing the boy's name, in addition to the charges, in accordance with Connecticut General Statute 46b-133.

Tristen Martin, a 14-year-old from Manchester, who is currently detained at the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center, was charged with felony murder, first-degree sexual assault, first-degree strangulation and risk of injury to a child with illegal sexual contact.
