2 Arrested After Bad Parking Lot Behavior in Vernon

Two were charged in Vernon after their erratic behavior in business parking lots was called in by citizens, police said.

VERNON, CT — Police nabbed two people for various offenses over the weekend after their erratic behavior in business parking lots was called in by citizens, reports indicate.

At 7 a.m. Sunday, police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle at the Vernon Diner, 453 Hartford Turnpike.

George Mateychuk, 36, of Stafford, had pipes showing traces of cocaine and Suboxone for which he did not have a prescription and also had two outstanding warrants for violating probation on a 60-day drug-related suspended sentence imposed in February, records show.

He was charged with possessing a controlled substance and the use and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report.

He is due in court on June 26.

At 12:14 a.m. Saturday, police received a call about a suspicious car at the Union Street 7-Eleven, according to a report.

Saul Colon, 23, of Vernon, admitted to drinking,then failed sobriety tests according to a report.

He was charged with driving under the influence and has a June 25 court date, according to a report.
