2-Car Crash Leaves Route 83 A Mess In Vernon

VERNON, CT — Route 83 in Vernon was shut down briefly early Sunday morning because of an accident.

At 12:15 a.m., a fire crew, an EMS unit and police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Route 83 and Hockanum Boulevard for a two-car crash. Officials said one vehicle had heavy front-end damage and police had to shut down the intersection for a short period of time because of debris and fluids scattered all over, officials said.

No serious injuries were sustained, officials said.
