3-Vehicle Crash Ties Up Traffic On Busy Vernon Street

The crash involving a trio of vehicles was reported at 9:35 a.m., according to a police spokesman.

VERNON, CT — A 3-vehicle crash on Hyde Avenue at East Street resulted in one serious injury and two other persons being hospitalized Thursday morning, according to police.

The crash directly in front of People's United Bank was reported at 9:35 a.m. The operator of a Mazda Miata was taken to a nearby hospital with "serious injuries," Sgt. Rob Marra said.

.Two people in a Mazda CX-5 were taken to area hospitals to be evaluated for minor injuries. The operator of a pickup truck involved in the crash declined medical attention, Marra said.
