2 Vernon Industrial Buildings Going Solar
Two industrial buildings in Vernon will soon be equipped with solar panels.
VERNON, CT — Two buildings in a Vernon industrial zone are going solar.
The buildings at 60 and 101 Industrial Park Road are owned by South Windsor-based TicketNetwork. Company officials said solar panels will be installed at both sites before March.
TicketNetwork was a neighbor of the two on Bolton Road at what is now the Vernon Senior Center.

It's the second major solar project for TicketNetwork in recent months. The company in March showed off 4,365 solar panels spread out over about 200,000 square feet of roof at its headquarters in South Windsor. It is part of TicketNetwork CEO Don Vaccaro's green energy initiative. The 1.4 Megawatt array of solar panels, which was completed in the spring of this year, will offset nearly 70 percent of the company's annual energy use and "dramatically" reduce its carbon footprint, TicketNetwork officials said.
The Vernon project will be on a smaller scale in terms of percentage of power generated, officials said.
