2nd Coronavirus Test This Week Confirmed For Vernon School System
A member of Vernon's education administration staff has tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said.

VERNON, CT — Vernon public school officials have confirmed that a second positive coronavirus test has been recorded this week in the system.
On Thursday, education officials were notified that a member of the central administration staff had tested positive for the coronavirus. The "affected person" has been instructed to remain home in self-isolation for 14 days and has been provided with additional instructions to follow prior to returning to work, officials say.
Family members have also been instructed to "self-quarantine and get tested," officials said.

The last day the person was at the central administration building at 30 Park St. was Oct. 9, officials said.
Anyone who is considered a "close contact" with the person has been contacted by school or local health officials and provided with instructions on the appropriate steps to take.

The same protocol was followed Monday after a positive test was confirmed at Rockville High School.
