3 Arrested In Connection With Stabbing In Vernon
A Rockville High School student was stabbed Friday night in the torso, legs and head, police said.

VERNON, CT — Three people have been arrested, including a 15-year-old juvenile, in connection with a stabbing incident Friday night which resulted in the hospitalization of a Rockville High School student.
Around 10:15 p.m., police were called to a residence on Union Street for a reported stabbing. Officers found a 17-year-old Vernon resident had been stabbed multiple times in his torso, legs and head. He was brought to Rockville General Hospital and later transferred to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center to receive more advanced treatment, Lt. William Meier said.
The victim, who is not being identified due to his age, is currently in stable condition

with non-life threatening injuries, Meier said.
Police investigation determined the stabbing likely took place on the Rails to Trails near
the Ryefield Apartment complex. It is believed the victim was known to the assailants
and it was not a random act, Meier said.

Shortly after the stabbing, officers located a vehicle in the Terrace Drive apartment complex that was believed to be involved. Officers found a hunting knife, a baseball bat and a wooden pole that had knife blades taped to both ends in the vehicle, Meier said.
Haley Machholz, 19, of 77 Sunnyview Dr., Vernon, and Jakwai Sosa, 20, of 277 Martin St., Hartford, were each charged with possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. Machholz posted a $100,000 bond and will appear in Rockville Superior Court Sept. 24. Sosa is currently being held in lieu of $100,000 bond, and will be arraigned Monday, Meier said.
A 15-year-old boy from Vernon who was in the vehicle is being detained in juvenile detention and
is not being identified due to his age, Meier said.
