4 Caught, 'Assault Weapon' Seized After Vernon Home Invasion
Vernon police have arrested four in connection with a violent home invasion.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police Monday rounded up four juveniles in connection with a Sunday home invasion on Elm Street.
They were turned over to juvenile authorities, police said. Police did not release their names, citing state law that prohibits it.
A gun police described as "an assault rifle" that was used in the crime was confiscated by authorities, an incident report indicates.

Two of the juveniles are facing charges that include of home invasion, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault with a firearm, the use of an assault weapon for an A, B or C felony, illegal possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of a high capacity magazine, the use of a machine gun in a violent crime, negligent storage of a firearm, second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an emergency call, sixth-degree larceny,
conspiracy to commit home invasion, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault.
One juvenile is facing charges that include home invasion, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault with
a firearm, use of an assault weapon for an A, B or C felony, illegal possession of an assault weapon, second-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, interfering with an emergency call, conspiracy to commit home invasion, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault.

The fourth juvenile is facing charges that include home invasion, first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit home invasion, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.
The victims of the home invasion were known to the juveniles, police said. They sustained what police described at non-life threatening injuries.
All four were to be presented in Rockville Juvenile Court Tuesday. The case remains under investigation, police said. Anyone with information is being urged to call Vernon Police at 860-872-9126.
