8th Arrest Made In Rival Groups' Feud In Vernon
Vernon police have now made eight arrests in relation to May 2021 brawl and shooting incidents at a local apartment complex.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police have now made an eighth arrest related to a shooting a year ago on Terrace Drive.
Shalik Robinson, 21, of Vernon, was charged on Friday in connection with the May 11, 2021 shooting at the Park West apartment complex, records show.
Police said he was taken into custody on a warrant.

Four adults and three juveniles have already been charged in connection with the incident.
Robinson has been charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and carrying a dangerous weapon. Robinson was held over the weekend in lieu of a $75,000 court-set bond and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Monday, police said.

The shooting took place at 4:15 p.m. on May 11. One man was found with several gunshot wounds at the complex, police reports show. According to case records, it was related to a brawl several days earlier.
Two rival groups of "young adults" were involved, police said.
Police seized several cell phones as part of the shooting/brawl investigation relating to a group chat called "Da Shootas," according to a warrant. Dialogue in the group chart shows several teens planning the May 2 attack on a rival teen that preceded the May 11 shooting. Video from a confiscated phone also shows an assault taking on May 2, according to a warrant.
