95 Bags Of Heroin Fall Out Of Man's Shorts At Vernon Traffic Stop
A Hartford man is accused of trying to sell drugs in Vernon with a toddler in his car and heroin in his shorts, police said.

VERNON, CT — Ninety-five bags of heroin fell out of man's pants while he was being questioned by police at a traffic stop in Vernon on Friday afternoon, according to a report.
The incident took place at 4:54 p.m. at the intersection of Orchard and Village Streets. An officer stopped a Nissan Altima and a passenger, 24-year-old Elijah Lopez, of Hartford, had a sandwich bag containing the smaller bags of heroin fall out of his shorts as he was being questioned, according to a report.
Lopez then "took off running," leaving his 3-year-old child behind in the vehicle, according to a report. He was chased down by police a short distance away, according to a report.

He was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of narcotics with the intent to sell
- Possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school
- Interfering with police
- Risk of Injury to a child
Lopez was held over the weekend on a $100,000 bond and was to appear in Rockville Supoerior Court on Monday, police said.
