A Little Hip, a Little Hop and a Big Message
Center Road School students get a break-dancing lesson in channeling energy.
Steve "Believe" Lunger and Mark "Metal" Wong brought a little hip-hop - and the message of channeling energy positively through dance and other activities - to Center Road School on Wednesday.
Collectively, the Philadelphia residents are called Hip-Hop Fundamentals and they have been touring the world over as historians of their genre and ambassadors of a few good moves on the floor.
"Practice … learn … at whatever you like to do," Lunger told the students.
Wong told the young people of a saying his family displays at home.
"There is a plaque on the wall," he said. "It says, 'You do not have to practice every day - just on the days hay you eat.'"
Metal and Believe brought some students - and even a few teachers - onto the stage to show off what they can do.
Then, they did a little break-dancing themselves.
