VERNON, CT — Alcohol was a factor in a rollover crash last week on Route 30 in Vernon, police said.

Authorities released details of the Dec. 10 incident this week.

The crash took place at 2 a.m. that day along the 1000 block of Hartford Turnpike, the local name for Route 30. According to a crash report, the driver was able to exit the vehicle, but officers at the scene suspected he was drunk.

The 41-year-old from Wingdale, NY then failed sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence, according to a crash report.
