VERNON, CT — Connecticut Water Company was to begin installing new water lines in Vernon on Monday, with work planned for McLean, Hammond and Thomas streets.
The project will also involve a small portion of Vernon Avenue, according to the notice.
Drivers in the area can expect traffic control at each location. The notice states that flaggers will be at each work site to guide motorists as the work moves forward.
That means traffic patterns may shift around active work zones on the affected streets and along the part of Vernon Avenue included in the project.
For residents and drivers, the main immediate impact is on travel through the work areas. Motorists were advised to use caution near crews and traffic control personnel while passing through the construction zones.
The notice also includes a direct safety reminder for anyone traveling through the affected areas: "Please drive carefully in all work zones."
