VERNON, CT — Long before he was Albus Dumbledore in the first two "Harry Potter" films and Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius in "Gladiator," actor Richard Harris played in a revival of "Camelot" that toured the U.S.
A signed poster commemorating that run — particularly the weeklong performances at New Haven's Shubert Theatre in October 1985 — sits in a window in Downtown Rockville. It's part of Vernon's newest business — John and Sandra's Re-Originals on West Main Street, across from, Town Hall.
John Hunter said he and Sandra had been selling collectibles online for about 20 years, but it has always been a dream to open up a shop of their own.
He said he found the Camelot poster at an auction.
"I buy what I like and always at auctions," he said.
Richard Harris is joined by items like an old-time Coca-Cola cooler and a wooden Budweiser beer case, vintage and quite workable fishing poles, a variety of glassware, advertising displays and artwork.
Vernon Mayor Dan Champagne welcomed the Hunters this week with an official proclamation.
