VERNON, CT — A 52-year-old Vernon man who threw a chair into a sliding glass door at a local residence and then fled into a neighborhood early Monday morning was eventually apprehended, police said.
The incident took place at 5:32 p.m. on Highland Avenue.
Police said the man, who is currently on probation, was attempting to get into the home and threw a wooden chair into the slider. He then fled the scene, according to an incident report.
When police located the man, he at first did not heed commands to stop, but later gave up, according to an incident report. He was charged with criminal attempt at second-degree burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief, both on the first degree, along with interfering with police, second-degree breach of peace and disorderly conduct.
Bond as set at $75,000 with a Monday court date.
