VERNON, CT — Two strange drunken driving incidents last week resulted in two arrests in Vernon, police said.
Vernon police released details of the incident to begin the week
On May 20, at 1:36 in the morning, a 66-year-old Vernon man was discovered asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at the Taco Bell drive-up lane according to an incident report.
Police could smell alcohol on his and, when he was brought out of the vehicle, the man failed sobriety tests, according to an. arrest report. He was charged with driving under the influence, records show.
At 1:28 a.m. on May 23, police were investigating a noise complaint on Grant Street and discovered a driver passed out in front of a home with loud music blaring from the vehicle, according to an arrest report.
The car was running — still in gear — with the 25-year-old Vernon man's foot on the accelerator, according to an arrest report.
Once police woke him up, the man failed sobriety tests and was charged with DUI, according to an arrest report.
