MIDDLETOWN, CT — With the school year winding down, police in Middletown Wednesday issued a summer safety reminder.
Here it is in full:
"As summer approaches, schools will soon be out, children will be spending more time outdoors, pedestrian traffic in our downtown area will increase, and the City of Middletown will host numerous community events and gatherings.
"The Middletown Police Department encourages all residents, business owners, and visitors to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and we all play a role in keeping our community safe.
"If you observe suspicious activity, unattended packages, unsafe behavior, or anything that appears out of place, trust your instincts and report it.
"Working together, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable summer for everyone in our community."
