Bad Plate Leads Cops To Suspected Drug Dealer In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A hard-to-see registration plate alerted Vernon police to a suspected drug dealer near Rockville High School.

The incident took place at 3:40 p.m. on May 31, according to a recently released arrest report. School was not in session that day.

An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Loveland Hill and Old Town Roads after noticing obscured and misused plates, according to an arrest report.

During the course of the stop, crack cocaine, marijuana and other drug-related paraphernalia were located, according to an arrest report.

The driver, a 28-year-old Hartford man, was charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, the use of drug paraphernalia, the improper use of a plate, driving an unregistered vehicle and failure to have minimum insurance.
