VERNON, CT — The 2o26 version of Vernon's annual July in the Sky celebration had a bit more special meaning Wednesday.
A bright segment honored America's 250th anniversary.
The day began with the display assembly atop Fox Hill at Henry Park. As in past years, there were about 1,100 shells.
When the show began after dusk, it paused about halfway through and patriotic music kicked in.
So did an added element for the 250th.
The show then concluded with a bang.
