VERNON, CT — A big hole on the earth has replaced a copse of trees on a long-vacant commercial tract in Vernon.
The work is paving the way for what the site plan describes as a "proposed dental building." It will be the new home of CT Dental Associates, according to Vernon Director of Development Services Shaun Gately.
The land measures .66 acres and is located at 64 Hartford Turnpike. That's to the east, at the corner of Hartford Turnpike and Main Street near the Talcottville Historic District.
To the west sits a plaza anchored by a U.S. Post Office and Elmo's Dockside restaurant. Across Hartford Turnpike is the Connecticut Golf Land complex that had long been under construction.
According to the site plan, the building will essentially be centered on the parcel with parking around the perimeter.
