VERNON, CT — Frankie G’s Ice Cream is inviting the community to return for its National Ice Cream Day celebration on Sunday, July 19, with free cones available for part of the day. The shop said it welcomed more than 600 friends, families and neighbors to last year’s event and is planning another afternoon gathering this summer.
From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Frankie G’s at 448 Hartford Turnpike will give away free regular-size ice cream cones. The offer includes a choice of flavor and sprinkles, with one cone available per person. According to the event announcement, each person must be present to receive the free cone.
The promotion will be available at the walk-up window only. Frankie G’s also said the shop will be open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with its full menu available throughout the day for customers who want additional items beyond the giveaway.
The event is centered on National Ice Cream Day and is framed by the business as a community celebration tied to summer. In its announcement, Frankie G’s described the day as “the perfect excuse to get together, enjoy a sweet treat, and celebrate summer.”

People planning to go should keep the event rules in mind before arriving. The person receiving the cone must be there in person, and the promotion will not be offered anywhere except the walk-up window.
For the rest of the day, Frankie G’s will continue regular operations until 9 p.m. with its standard menu available. The free giveaway is scheduled to end at 3 p.m., while the larger National Ice Cream Day celebration will continue as part of the shop’s regular business hours.
