VERNON, CT — As if the paving work along Interstate 84 wasn't enough, a dump truck mishap added to the traffic woes in Vernon last week.
According to a state police crash report, a tri-axle dump truck was at the Exit 65 commuter lot at 10:12 p.m. on July 12. The driver, a 37-year-old Port Chester, NY, man, forgot to lower the truck bed after off-loading construction materials and ran right into a power line, according to a crash report.
The line was ripped right off its pole, according to a crash report.
To makes maters worse, the driver was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
He was also charged with driving with an unsecured load.
