Prosecutors say the abuse, which began when the victim was 7, occurred in multiple Vernon-area locations, and they credit the now-teen's courage in coming forward as the case against Lemieux and co-defendant Maria Stewart moves toward sentencing and trial.
   

• Vernon Officials: Paving Projects Will Be Done Before School Starts (patch.com) — Drivers and families in Vernon should expect daytime delays this week as major paving work continues on Vernon Avenue, Center Road, Vernon Summit Road, and the Peterson Road fork near Vernon Center Middle and Center Road schools. Town officials say milling is done, paving is underway with traffic restrictions in place, and they expect all resurfacing to be finished before classes start on August 27.
