According to a warrant, the checks were stolen from the Hartford Turnpike post office drop box, rewritten to a different payee, and then cashed, leading to multiple forgery, identity theft, and larceny charges now pending in Rockville Superior Court.
   

• Co-Defendant In 'Horrific' Vernon Sex Trafficking Case Involving Young Girl Enters Plea (patch.com) — A Vernon man has pleaded guilty in Rockville Superior Court to serious sexual assault and trafficking charges in a long-running case investigated by Vernon police. Prosecutors say the abuse began when the victim was a child in Vernon-area homes and other locations, and they credit her for bravely coming forward, while charges against a co-defendant remain pending.
