VERNON, CT — The driver of a tractor-trailer apparently didn't see a compact car and hit it while it was changing lanes on Interstate 84, state police said.
The Troop C barracks recently released details of the Aug. 26 accident.
At 8:39 p.m. that day, a 59-year-old New Jersey man was driving the truck eastbound in the center lane of Interstate 84 just prior to Exit 67, according to a crash report.
The trucker did not see the Corolla "because of the small size of the vehicle" and "the height" of the tractor-trailer as it cut things close while merging in front of him, according to a crash report. A 65-year-old Massachusetts woman was driving the Corolla, according to a crash report.
The two then collided, state police said.
No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
