VERNON, CT — Vernon police said they have made a narcotics-related arrest on a driver exiting a hotel "known" for its drug activity.
The driver, identified s 27-year-old Ethan Michaud, of Tolland, is set to appear in Rockville Superior Court Tuesday to face charges that include possession of a controlled substance, the use of drug paraphernalia, making an improper turn and driving while under suspension, records show.
According to an arrest report, at 9:24 p.m. on Sept. 6, police were conducting surveillance in the area of the Vernon Motel on Hartford Turnpike, which is known as "a higher crime area, specifically for drug sales." Michaud, in an Volkswagen Jetta, took a right turn coming out of the Hotel without signaling and was pulled over on Hartford Turnpike, according to an arrest report.
While being questioned, Michaud appeared to be trying to conceal something and he was removed from the Jetta, according to an arrest report.
A subsequent search uncovered 1.5 grams of crack cocaine and numerous smoking pipes, according to an arrest report.
