Suspected Drunken Moped Rider Intercepted In Vernon: Police

VERNON, CT — Drunken shenanigans on a moped in Vernon cost the driver three criminal charges earlier this month, a police report shows.

Vernon police recently issued an arrest report in the Sept. 15 incident.

At 5:21 p.m. that day, an officer observed a 24-year-old Ellington man blow through a stop sign and commit several other moving violations on Oak Street and Talcott Avenue, according to an arrest report.

The man then failed a series of field sobriety tests, according to an. arrest report.

In all, the deriver was charged with driving while under suspension, driving under the influence and failure to obey a stop sign.
