VERNON, CT — None of Vernon's priciest homes on the market reaches the half-million mark. The town's five most expensive homes for sale on Zillow.com run from $399,000 to $480,000 and include a 55-and-over condo and a house on Middle Bolton Lake.
No. 1 on the list is 35 Warren Ave., listed at $480,000. Built in 1986, the 2,788-square-foot house has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom on 0.69 acres, with central air, hardwood floors, a finished basement, an attached two-car garage and a big, flat backyard. It has been on Zillow for 13 days.
Just behind it is 64 Risley Road, a fully updated raised ranch on just over an acre, at $469,900. The 2,458-square-foot house, built in 1972, has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace insert with a stone surround. It has been on Zillow for 26 days.
Rounding out the top three is a standalone ranch-style condo in the Quail Hollow 55-and-over community at 15 Farm Brook Lane, Unit 15, asking $450,000. Built in 2003, the 1,603-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms on one level. It has been on Zillow for 13 days.
No. 4 is a contemporary with direct access to Middle Bolton Lake at 6 Miller Road, listed at $419,900 after a $10,000 price cut on Sept. 22. Built in 1958, the 3,016-square-foot house has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms on 0.7 acres. An addition created an open kitchen and dining area with ceilings more than 12 feet high and a skylight, and the house has three fireplaces, including an oversized brick one in the family room. It has been on Zillow for 59 days.
Two houses that both hit Zillow three days ago are tied for No. 5 at $399,000. 41 Birch St., built in 1981, is a 1,876-square-foot rustic retreat with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a new roof, a new deck and a finished basement. 25 Pineview Drive, built in 1965, is a 1,575-square-foot ranch with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a granite kitchen, a fireplace and a home office.

Only homes marked "For sale" or offered as new construction were included; pending, coming-soon, land-only and multifamily listings were left out. A 40-acre lot on Reservoir Road listed at $3 million was also left out.
