Another Coronavirus Testing Clinic Scheduled For Vernon Sunday

VERNON, CT — A free, state-sponsored drive-up coronavirus testing clinic is being offered Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at Rockville High School.

The clinic, open to the public, especially those who have virus symptoms or have reason to believe they were in contact with or exposed to a person with the virus.

The testing is being coordinated by the town of Vernon and the North Central District Health Department with the State Department of Public Health. Sema4 Laboratories is conducting the testing.

In the event of inclement weather, the clinic may be canceled.

Coronavirus symptoms can include fever or chills, cough, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

People who test positive can expect to receive a call from a contact tracer, who will ask detailed questions about people with whom the tested person may have had contact.

The contact tracer's caller ID will appear on mobile phones as "CTCOVIDTRACE" or the local health department. Contact Tracers do not ask people to call 900 phone numbers, will not contact people via social media, and do not ask for financial information.
