VERNON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

American International College, Springfield MA

• American International College has named 470 students, including three from Vernon, to the fall 2018 Dean's List. Dean's List students are full time students who have achieved a 3.3 to a 4.0 GPA. Vernon students on the list are Ashley Barile, majoring in Health Science; Hagar Bentil, majoring in Nursing; and Danielle Faucher, majoring in Nursing.

Grove City College, Grove City PA

• Ian Edwards, a senior Middle Level Math/English major at Grove City College, has been named to the Dean's List with High Distinction for the fall 2018 semester. Ian is the son of Julie and Jeffrey Edwards from Vernon. Students eligible for the Dean's List have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the Dean's List with Distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the Dean's List with High Distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Muhlenberg College, Allentown PA

• Madison Baranoski of Vernon was named to the Dean's List at Muhlenberg College for the fall 2018 semester. To earn this academic achievement, students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the term.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Three students from Vernon have been named to the fall 2018 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. They are Kelly Collopy, Sarah Cutting and Ashley Markunas. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that more than 5,500 undergraduates, including three from Vernon, have qualified for the fall 2018 Dean's List. Vernon honorees are Sara Butterfield, Adam Lenhardt and Sabrina Sousa. To be included on the Dean's List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average.
