Authorities Considering Vandalism as Cause of Car Fire That Spread to a Garage in Vernon

The fire broke out on Wednesday

VERNON, CT — Authorities are now thinking foul play started a Wednesday morning car fire in the Rockville section of town that also became a garage fire.

Vernon firefighters were called to the scene on Becker Place at 5:23 a.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters and police officers found one car on fire and that fire spread to a second car and then an adjacent garage, police spokesman Lt. William Meier said.

The fires were extinguished by the Vernon Fire Department, Meier said.
