Back to School Bargain: Once Upon a Step Stool

So it's 7:36 in the morning and the first-grader is fighting with the two pre-schoolers for the prime teeth-brushing spot.

"It's my turn!"

"I was here first."

"Hey!"

"Get off."

Boom!

"Waaaaaaaaa!

The whole scenario came to mind on Monday during trip to at the Stop & Shop plaza on West Middle Turnpike in Manchester. There it was - a white double-wide stool from Sfety First for $6.99 - in mint condition.

Stools like that can cost $20 or more new.

The moral of the story? Once Upon a Child surprises the back-to-school shopper mow often than not with the price and condition of some items.

Items ranging from a used - but in perfect condition stool like the one purchased Monday to clothing with the tags still on them - orphans from a child that grew too fast.

So the stool is placed firmly on a bathroom floor and the pre-schoolers can brush their teeth at the same time. The first-grader now goes for the toothbrush first-thing.

Oh yes. She likes the stool too.
