Bailed-Out Person's Ride Turns Into DUI Arrest In Vernon
The ride for a person who had just been bailed out at the Vernon Police Department was interrupted by a failed sobriety test, police said.

VERNON, CT — A 20-year-old who came to the Vernon Police Department early Tuesday morning to pick up a person who had just been bailed out of jail wound up being arrested for drunken driving.
According to an arrest report, the man, who isn't allowed to legally drink alcohol, arrived at police headquarters at 1:54 a.m. to pick up someone who had been previously arrested, according to an incident report.
While speaking to the man in the lobby, an officer detected the smell of alcohol on him and he subsequently failed a sobriety test, according to an arrest report.

He was then taken to the booking room himself and charged with driving under the influence, police said.
