Bank Card Forcibly Taken From Elderly Vernon Resident: Warrant
Vernon police have charged a man with robbery after an elderly relative complained he forcibly took a bank card from her.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police have charged a man with robbery after an elderly relative complained he forcibly took a bank card from her, a warrant states.
Adam Knoff, 36, was charged with third-degree robbery, credit card theft and breach of peace, according to a warrant.
The case dates back to June 7, when a 78-year-old resident of Progress Avenue alerted police to the theft.

The woman said she had given Knoff $7 earlier in the day and he came back for more. When she said she had no more cash, he then grabbed her purse and removed a bank card, according to a warrant. He then fled the residence on a bicycle, according to a warrant.
The woman suffered an arm injury in the process, according to a warrant. On the day of the alleged theft, they heard the woman scream "help" and "you can't take that," from the dwelling, according to a warrant.

Neighbors told police they frequently heard Knoff screaming at the woman from inside the residence, seemingly about money, according to a warrant.
Vernon police eventually tracked down Knoff and served the warrant.
