Bar Incident In Vernon Leads To Charges
A weekend incident at a Vernon watering hole led to charges for an angry patron, police said.

VERNON, CT — A man who was kicked out of a Vernon watering hole after a disturbance is now facing two criminal charges after returning for Round 2, a police report indicates.
The incident took place at 1:25 a.m. at the Free Spirit, a nightlife fixture for years on Kelly Road in Vernon.
Police received a recall from the establishment about an "argumentative male" who was refusing to leave after being asked to, according to a report. The man, identified as 41-year-old David Gilbert of South Windsor, was told to vacate the property several times by police after they arrived, according to a report.

He finally left, but, while officers were still there, he came back and was arrested.
Gilbert was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and interfering with an officer. He is due in court on June 11, a report indicates.
