Bolton/Coventry/Rockville is scheduled to put its 17-1-2 record on the line tonight against E.O.Smith/Tolland/Windham in the quarterfinals of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Division III tournament.
The game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Trinity College.
BCR is the No. 3 seed while E.O.Smith/Tolland/Windham, 11-8-1, is ranked sixth.
"Entering the tournament is an opportunity to keep the season going, and like all years, anybody can beat anybody on any given day," BCR coach Christian Stevenson said.
The teams scrimmaged and then played twice this season. They tied 1-1 in mid-February at the Bolton Ice palace after BCR won 5-2 two weeks earlier at the University of Connecticut.
"Having played EO Smith/Tolland twice this year, we know that they look for the big hit first and to play hockey second. With that in mind, we will need to keep our heads up, remain focused and to play our high tempo brand of hockey," Stevenson said.
He also knows there could be chances in a physical game.
"We will also need to cash in in power play opportunities when they present themselves," Stevenson said.
