VERNON, CT — A judge on Tuesday cut the bond in half for a job coach accused of sexually assaulting a special needs client. James Dumas, however, remained in custody Wednesday after failing to put up the $75,000, records show.

Dumas, 61, of Ellington, is due back in court on Dec. 3, court records indicate. He is facing three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and a single count of second-degree sexual assault, according to a warrant.

Dumas is facing up to 10 years in prison for the second-degree charge, a Class C felony in Connecticut.
