Bond Stays At $750,000 In Vernon Child Sex Case

A 49-year-old man facing charges in Vernon related to sexual assault with a child remained in custody Wednesday on a $750,000 bond.

VERNON, CT — A 49-year-old man facing two dozen charges related to sexual assault with a child, remained in custody on a $750,000 bond after appearing before a judge Tuesday, a clerk at Rockville Superior Court said.

His case was also moved to the Part A docket, a distinction reserved for the most serious of cases. The case file also remained sealed Wednesday.

Ronald Lee Daniel, 49, of Hartford, was taken into custody on Monday afternoon. Vernon police said they could not comment on the case, other than to say they have been working with state and federal authorities.

  • 4 counts of first-degree sexual assault with a victim younger than 13
  • 3 counts of employing a minor in an obscene performance
  • 4 counts of aggravated sexual assault with a victim younger than 13
  • 4 counts of illegal sexual contact with a minor
  • 3 counts of third-degree sexual assault
  • Risk of injury to a child
  • 2 counts of first-degree unlawful restraint
  • 2 counts of second-degree threatening
  • Third-degree assault

He is due back in court on July 12, records show.
