My daughter attends a Vernon Public School.
A notice was sent out on the first day stating tta, that if you want to participate in receiving birthday invitations, to send in your address, etc.
They prefer you mail them instead of give them in the class. If you want the list, ask the teacher. My understanding was that this was in case you don't invite all students. I have been asking the teacher for four weeks now for the list and havent gotten it yet.

At the meet-andgreet, I asked if she could bring them in because she is inviting everyone. I was told "NO."
Her party is in two weeks and the teacher still hasn't gotten it to me. I called the principal for an exception to bring them in and was told, "...our priority is education, not birthdays, the teacher will try to get to it if she can ..."

I'm supposed to tell my soon to be 6-year-old that she wont be able to invite anyone to her party becuase the school's priority is education and not her birthday?
Hmm. I'm not sure what else to do?
This is also NOT IN THE HANDBOOK, by the way.
I thought of calling it a play date, not a birthday party, standing at the school and handing them out, etc. I feel so badly for my daughter, Im sad and frustrated.
Anyone have a suggestion?
