Will you go to prom with me?

Prom. It all starts off the same. A day of nervous jitters for the guys, and the long-never ending days of girls just waiting to be asked. With the ever increasing competition for dates as prom nears, coming up with a stand out way to make the girl feel special gets harder and harder. So here’s the cheat sheet, guys, straight from Rockville’s fifth block creative writing class girls:

• Post P-R-O-M-?  in sticky notes on her car, front door of her house, ect.
• Letters in cookie dough (be sure to bake them first!)
• Create a song for her
• Have “Will you go to prom with me?” on the bottom of a coffee cup
• Put it in the daily announcement for the whole school to hear
• Write it in a book, on a bookmark
• Flash mob
• Put it on a movie marque
• Write her a poem
• Put it on a napkin and make her something nice to go with it
• Put it at the last slide of a class PowerPoint project
• Give her puzzle pieces made out of Styrofoam, eventually giving her the last the piece that says “PROM?”
• Write out the name in candles on her driveway
• Create a Facebook page

Or for the average Joe, the ol’traditional way of just walking up to the girl, or pulling her aside in the hall and asking her face-to-face, just may be the most flattering way.
