'Brake Check' Move Costs Driver 4 Charges In Vernon Road Rage Incident
A driver intentionally forced another to hit his vehicle, state police said.

VERNON, CT — A 53-year-old Mansfield man is facing four criminal charges after intentionally causing a crash during a road rage incident in Vernon, state police said.
State police released details of the Nov. 27 incident this week.
At 12:47 p.m. that day, a 2013 Toyota Scion being driven by the Mansfield man was on the Interstate 84 eastbound Exit off-ramp. The driver admittedly performed a "brake check" maneuver in an effort to get a 2024 Honda CRV being driven by a 37-year-old Manchester woman to hit his vehicle, according to a state police report.

The Mansfield man then failed a field sobriety test after the collision, according to a state police report.
No one was hurt, state police said.

The Mansfield man was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving for the crash and with second-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a child because a 2-year-old boy was in the Honda, according to a state police report.
