Brief Standoff Ends With Drug Arrest In Vernon
A bad plate led to a narcotics seizure in Vernon, police said.

VERNON, CT - A Vernon man was caught with drugs after a brief standoff with police over the weekend, an arrest report shows.
On Saturday at 9:50 a.m., an officer noticed a silver Hyundai with a misused plate and tailed it to a residence on Vernon Avenue, according to an arrest report.
The driver, Vernon resident Vicente Torres, 26, fled into his home and refused to come out, according to an arrest report.

He came outside after a,short time and surrendered to charges that include possesssion of narcotics, engaging police in a pursuit, interfering and four motor vehicle violations, an arrest report shows.
