Building In Vernon's Rockville Section Getting A Makeover
A building in the Downtown Rockville area of Vernon is getting new life.

VERNON, CT — A building in a prominent location in the Rockville section of Vernon is getting a makeover.
Work has been on going at the Circuit Cellar building for about a month. It sits at the intersection of Park Street and St. Bernard's Terrace, next to Rockville Superior Court and adjacent to the Town Hall Annex.
Vernon Economic Development Coordinator Shaun Gately said the building has been "in rough shape." The inside condition has deteriorated over the years and it was also damaged during Tropical Storm Isaias, he said.

It's not exactly clear when the building was erected because of incomplete property records but an elevator was installed in 1967, Gately said. It was never used for education like the courthouse next door, he said.
It measures 19,000 square feet.

So far the only prospective tenant is what Gately described as a "communication company hub."
Windows will be replaced along with a renovations to the inside and a "facelift," Gately said.
