Strong Family Farm

Since 1878, the Strong Family Farm has stood as a sentinel in the center of Vernon. Once comprising more than 50 acres on West Road and Hartford Turnpike, the farm has served as the home and workplace for more than seven generations of Strongs. The last of the Strong farmers left in 2011 and today a group of caring community members and family have preserved it for future generations to experience.
Enjoy various hands-on farm based learning opportunities, including workshops, demonstrations, lectures, classes, volunteer opportunities and farm activities for all ages.
And don't forget to support the seasonal farm stand where only CTGrown and produced items are sold. The season opens in mid June and goes until the Harvest Festival the 3rd Sunday in October, Thursday and Friday 1-6 and Saturday and Sunday 10-3 with fun themed farm activities for all ages and visiting animals on Sundays 10-2.
